IDSA-LA Car Show

IDSA-LA Car show.
Little tiny thing, but fun.
IDSA-LA, aka the Industral Designers Society of America-Los Angeles Chapter, had a little car show at Autobooks-Aerobooks in Burbank, California. Being an industrial designer, Alan figured it was worth going to, and it was! Even if it was rather hot outside, at least lunch at Porto's next door was worth it!
Quite good, actually. Clearly lots of designers rather than engineers were present, as noted by the three Covairs that were present. *grins* Most of the cars present were slightly older. A Ford Mustang GT500 (err, a Shelby GT500 as marketing likes to call it) was present as well as a new Mercedes E63 AMG, and supposedly a McLaren F1 was by in the morning... but that's about it for newer cars.
A Toyota Celica Supra (automatic, erk!), a sweet sounding Ducati MH900 (hear the noise of the dry clutch... then the glorious sound from the exhaust), a Triumph TR2, a Ferrari 308GT4 Dino, a `49 Ford converted to a `50 Ford with a Camaro front clip and a Chevy smallblock, a stock Porsche 911 (993 flavor) almost clean enough to eat off of daily driven, a few Citroen (one wagon, one coupe)...
Somewhat unrelated-- as this bookstore is a haven to car collectors-- were a pair of street rods that were mostly restored.
As things were wrapping up, a lady in a copy of a Manx dune buggy showed up for the event, a Buick woodie station wagon came in, and a guy with a Lotus Europa Series I randomly happened to drive by. Pretty cool, if not quite my usual crowd of cars!.
