SERCA National Convention Car Show Day, 23 May 2004.
Day one was Friday, track day at Streets of Willow Springs.
Day two was Saturday, dyno day at Hook-Ups dyno.
Day three was Sunday, car show and tour at Nissan Headquarters.
The crowd was much smaller than expected: people were probably worn out from so much driving over the last two days, 90 minutes north to Willow Springs and then 30 minutes east to Hook-Ups in Upland, then another 35 minutes to Nissan NA HQ in Gardena.
Prearranged sections for B13, B14, and B15 Sentras were there. G35's, Z's, and everyone else had to cram in around the (ample) parking lot. A few SE-R Cup cars were parked up front, along with some Nissan prototype mules, such as an Altima SE-R and a preproduction `04 Sentra SE-R Spec V. The Altima SE-R was well finished, but looked much too expensive for an SE-R, too heavy and feature-loaded. A collection of Nismo S-tune and R-tune vehicles were present as well. Very sweet looking, but not as crazy as some of the other cars in the parking lot. =)
The Nissan NA HQ tour wasn't a tour of the building itself... but rather a warehouse a few blocks away, filled to the brim with Nissans, some rare, some uncommon, and some just damned cool. The Disco Potato is stored there, as are a collection of race cars, classic Nissans, 300ZXes, the 2000 Eibach tuned Maxima, a new Nissan Micra, and other very nice cars. Outside the warehouse was the parking for Nissan-employee-damaged vehicles. Ah, the irony.
Individual pictures of most of the B13s and B14s present are below, including this silver S13 and Mike Kojima's usual collection of cars. The B15, G35, G20, Maximas, and other cars got shorted on pictures-- I was bored of seeing the same old, same old riceboys all the time from all the other SoCal meets.
Quite a few prizes were given away-- good stuff such as oil temperature adapters, Hotshot coupons, Motul fluids, and enough t-shirts and Nissan books for everyone. I left after humoring the Maxima riceboys there and taking a few photos with them.
